XVoice (http://xvoice.sourceforge.net) is a continuous speech application for use with a variety of Xwindow applications under linux. It is free to obtain although it sits upon IBM's ViaVoice recognition engine for linux, and requires it in order to function correctly. It allows user's dictation to be directed to any number of X applications, or using it's command mode and associated grammars, spoken commands such as turning the phrase ``list'' into the Unix command ``ls -l''.
